HELPFUL HINTS...
Keeping Your Hair Healthy:
Nothings better than having a nice head of hair. Everyone has different types of hair. Straight, curly, wavy, etc. Be proud of your hair. It's okay once in a while to straighten your hair if it's curly/wavy or curl it if it's straight. But you shouldn't do that every day! You should show your natural hair. Besides, hot styling tools like that aren't even good for your hair. I think it's a must to do something with your hair if it's an out of control frizzy mess. There are products for that. Never overuse products though.
Here are some tips:
-Dissolve 1 tsp of honey or agave nectar into 1/2 cup of warm water, pour into spray bottle, then mist over hair. It's liquid sugar and acts like a light hair gel.
-Condition like crazy!
-Deviled eggs: breaking an egg is the answer to breaking strands. They're full of protein and biotin, a B vitamin that helps strengthen the cuticle.
-Oysters: if you seem to shed in the shower, think zinc. A zinc deficiency can lead to hair loss. Oysters are a primary zinc source.
-Foods packed with protein can nourish the follicle, which will help stimulate growth.
-Go easy on the heat styling. Dragging the flatiron on that same piece of hair over and over again is what weakens the hair's outer protective layer. If you're going to use it glide the iron slowly on the highest setting (typically 410 degrees) slowly, gradually increasing pressure as you work from roots to ends.
-TO GET VOLUME:
1. Condition first, then shampoo
2. Get the right cut. Two many layers may turn out looking stringy and thin.
3. Switch the position of your part every once in a while. The strands of our hair are creatures of habit. Keep them in the same place long enough and they get a little too comfortable.
4. Curling your hair always makes it look thicker.
-Olive Oil keeps your hair very silky
-At the end of your shower turn off the hot water. This instantly seals each cuticle, closing up the shaft so it reflects natural light more easily and provides optimal shine and radiance.
WANT THOSE PERFECT WAVES?
Wondering how you can get a more modern undone style with your curling iron?
Start with day-old hair; it holds it's shape better. Set the iron on medium-low and begin wrapping 2 inches down from the roots, leaving the ends free. Just shake it out and finger-comb for a chunky, textured wave.

ReplyDeleteSo, for basketball tryouts on wednesday, what exercises should we be doing? push ups, curls ups, plank, etc... also any drills that i can practice for the tryouts?!?!?!
ReplyDeleteSorry I didn't get back to you sooner. So anyways, just do what we're doing in tryouts. Lots of dribbling drills and work on left and right hands both.. good luck!
ReplyDeleteHey, this question is more to Maddie because Lindsay doesn't seem to be on the blog right now and I see Maddie is on. Okay so Maddie you are GORGEOUS and you always look perfect and soo pulled together and you're hair is soo pretty. How do you do it?? Please give me some tips!!
ReplyDeleteAww thanks. Yeah, Lindsay is on vacation. Well I guess I could give you some tips... So I always plan out what I'm going to wear the night before (if you need help with that check out Fashion Advice). I usually just try to wear something nice. I'm not really sure what you want me to tell you but I just get dressed and blow dry my hair and then brush it.. my hair is naturally straight so I don't need to straighten it or anything. Just don't be afraid to try anything new. If you have any fashion-related questions. Just ask! Hope this helps..
ReplyDeleteThanks!! You make it sound really easy.. If any questions come to mind I'll ask.
ReplyDeleteWhat type of shampoo and conditioner do you recommend?
ReplyDeleteWell, I use all different kinds and mainly just use whatever smells best. It really depends what type of hair you have. Most of the time on shampoo bottles it will say for volume or for wavy hair or something like that. So next time you're picking out what you want, look for those words.
